Of all the skills required for having fun, paying close attention is the most crucial. A quick wit and a glib tongue are valuable assets, but neither holds a candle to the ability to listen with great care.

Listening is not a passive act. It can actively involve all the senses – the ears, eyes and, most especially the heart.

Careful listening focuses our full attention on the current moment, which is where all the fun is to be found.
